Morestead is a country parish with scattered housing and a population of around 70. The majority of parishioners live within half a mile of the church.
There is a strong sense of community based on the church (the only public building in the parish) and 30 residents are on the electoral roll, which is a large proportion of our population Many of these regularly attend church.
The Norman church is the oldest in the Benefice and unusually it has no known dedication.
In the 19th century the church was sympathetically extended to provide the curate’s house. This later became the village school and is now the vestry.
